Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapy team will help you to improve your ability to do everyday tasks that you may be struggling with. They will look at the activities that you find difficult and see if there is another way you can do them. These activities can be from any aspect of your daily life, from your specific hobby or interest to the more practical tasks such as household chores or getting washed and dressed. Our therapists can also advise you on how to adapt your home for your individual needs and can suggest equipment that may help make tasks easier and/or safer for you.
Although occupational therapy is accessible through the NHS, there is often a wait for treatment plus not all services are included. Our team can often see you within a day or two of you contacting us and we offer a wide range of services that can help support you in the short or long term. Having physiotherapists within our team also means that the two professions can work together if needed. This flexibility gives a truly comprehensive service and ensures the best possible care.
Occupational therapists are university educated health-care professionals that help people to improve their ability to function as independently as possible, enabling them to continue doing the activities that are meaningful and important to them. They have the knowledge and skills to support people with physical, mental or cognitive difficulties, those recovering from illness or injury and those who are just finding life a struggle as they get older.
The Good Therapy Group has occupational therapists who specialise in dementia care.
