Care Home Services
Getting the most out of each day.
One-to-One Physiotherapy
We have been supporting residents in care homes for many years. Everyone's priorities are different. For some, it may be walking to the dining room independently, joining in with activities, or getting back out into the garden. For others, it may be standing more easily, maintaining strength and flexibility, or simply feeling more comfortable day to day.
For residents who are less mobile, physiotherapy can still play an important role. Gentle movement and massage can help keep joints and muscles supple, ease aches and pains, improve comfort and provide valuable one-to-one time and attention. Where appropriate, we may also incorporate simple activities and conversation designed to gently stimulate the mind as well as the body.
As mobility changes, there is often still much to be gained from regular physiotherapy. It can help maintain comfort, preserve movement and flexibility, and ease everyday aches and pains. Even when someone is no longer walking or spends much of their time in bed, physiotherapy can still play an important role in maintaining comfort and quality of life.
For many residents, the regular one-to-one contact, encouragement and having something positive to look forward to can be just as valuable as the physical benefits. Over time, we get to know the people we work with well, and that relationship often becomes an important and valued part of the support we provide.
Families often tell us that knowing someone is keeping an eye on their loved one and taking the time to get to know them provides reassurance, particularly when they are unable to visit as often as they would like.
Supporting Your Activity Program
Alongside one-to-one physiotherapy, we also offer a range of physiotherapist-led group activities for care homes. We know that activity coordinators are always looking for new and interesting ways to engage residents. Our sessions can be adapted to suit the interests and abilities of your residents and can be delivered as standalone events or incorporated into your existing activity program.
Physiotherapist-Led Exercise Sessions
Our exercise sessions use a variety of equipment including resistance bands, Pilates balls, hand weights and balance equipment to help residents stay active, strong and confident. Sessions may also incorporate gentle yoga and Tai Chi-inspired movement, posture awareness and breathing exercises. All equipment is provided.
Mind & Body Sessions
A fun and engaging alternative to traditional exercise classes. These sessions combine gentle movement with interactive activities designed to stimulate both the brain and the body, encouraging participation, conversation and enjoyment.
Creative Wellbeing Sessions
For homes looking to offer something a little different, we can also provide physiotherapist-led creative wellbeing sessions. Using simple art and craft activities, these relaxed and sociable sessions encourage conversation, creativity and a sense of achievement whilst helping to improve dexterity, coordination and the connection between mind and body.
With all equipment and materials provided, these sessions are already running in several care homes and rehabilitation settings where they have proved extremely popular with residents and staff alike.
